Killearn United Methodist Church
Contact: Ms. Wendy Kurtz
Killearn United Methodist Church boasts a congregation of approximately 2000 members. When it was decided that the church wanted to take advantage of the new medium of the Internet to minister to its members and reach out to the community, IIS was selected to perform their site development.
The nature of this client fit well with Intelligent Internet Strategies' community service program goals, so we informed KUMC that we would perform their website development as part of our Do Good in the Hood program.
The KUMC website provides a wealth of information on the church and its programs for members and prospective members. The Source, the church's newsletter is electronically published monthly. IIS also developed an Active Channel for the church to which members can subscribe to receive the church's weekly bulletin direct to their desktop.
In addition, IIS has developed a Java slideshow of the church's annual Living Christmas Story, online Bible quizzes for the church's children and youth as well as other family Bible-oriented online activities.
The result is the church has an effective Internet presence upon which to base its electronic ministry. That presence is anchored in a website that interactively provides information and activities to site users. The KUMConline website is a recipient of the Home & Hearth Award of Excellence Award.
